Portraits are universal in appeal…we never tire of looking at faces…from the beginning of life and throughout.
People…ordinary and extraordinary… come into my life. If a connection is made, I ask that person to sit for me.
Time and work cement that connection… which we then share forever.
I search for the dignity within the sitter and when a sense of ‘spirit’ is felt within the clay…
that piece is finished and I believe…hope…the viewer will recognize something meaningful.
